At lunch on Sunday I had a startling revelation: I am my mother!! Ok not really but the situation I was in was one I was very familiar with but it seemed just a couple months ago that I was the 5 year old, then the 12 yr old and before I realized I was the 16 yr old in the group that was sitting around the table eating lunch. One of my favorite things growing up were family reunions. No one on either my mom or dads side of the family lived in the same state so we didn't get to see our family often.

The Sunday of this realization Aunt Sharon, Uncle David and Aunt Dorothy were traveling from Pennsylvania to Florida and stopped in Atlanta to meet with us Krueger siblings and our families. We were all sitting around the table at Macaroni Grill, eating lunch when it hit me that the kids around me were the ages I was not very long ago at family get togethers. These memories came flooding back, the time I was 6 (Caties age) and we went to PA for a visit and Sarah and I did something absolutely horrible and got in lots of trouble. Or the time I was 16 (Megans age) and Sarah and I went to Six Flags with my youth group during a family reunion. Now I am the mother and some of these kids at the table bringing back memories are my own!

Memories of all the family members who were here and at everything growing up and have now passed on to live in Heaven. My mom, her mom ~ my grandmother, Uncle Ozzie and Aunt Ruth, and this past year the passing of Uncle Karl and grandpa. As the generations grow and we age it brought to mind how important several things are, this is for you my girls, Catie, Clare and Caroline ~ things I never want you to forget!

First ~ the importance to live in the moment. Not looking for the next step or waiting on something to happen to change a person or circumstance. My favorite line on the movie "Up" was "It might sound silly but it was the boring stuff that I liked the most".

Second ~ finding ways to hold on to memories so you can relive them over and over. Taking lots of photos, I have some photos I want to post with this blog but couldn't find what I was looking for, in the process of looking I came across so many old photos that brought back great memories. I felt a little like I was on a vacation sitting on my bed looking through the pictures.

Third ~ don't hold grudges, if someone offends you resolve it or decide to just let it go! Grudges don't hurt anyone except the one holding on to it. You have the opportunity to change the lives of those around you for better or worse. The reason I mentioned this with memories is because when you are upset with someone you miss out on lots of great opportunities to make a positive difference in their lives.

We had a great time visiting with family, and I can't wait to see everyone again. Hopefully very soon! Sadly Caroline had pink eye so she and Cale stayed home.
