What an AWESOME God!!!

This past Monday Cale gave his notice at 84 Lumber but requested to stay on as contract sales. What this means is that he would earn a percentage of all that he sold but he would not be an employee so we would not receive any benefits like an employee. We have been excited about getting the lawn business up and running but have to wait on paperwork to be complete at 84 Lumber so we can have the money to buy our equiptment.

In the meantime it is amazing to watch the way God has shown us that he is in control and will provide for us like he promises in Matthew 6:25-34. We got a call today from a company that we thought we be offering Cale a job when he was planning to stay strictly in lumber sales. They want to talk to him and offer him a position in contract sales but unlike 84 Lumber give him a paycheck as he is starting off! Although Cale received huge kudos from his superiors at 84 becuase he far exceeded their expectations in sales (with no expereince at the end of his first year he was the #1 sales guy in this area) they would not even consider giving him a base pay or money to help him once his 1st 6 months were past. We did get a little bitter as every other salesperson has never gone without a base pay but God provided for us in miraculous ways.

So back to my original story, this past week - well this past 3 days - we have seen some amazing things happen. A fellow employee of Cales from 84 is building a deck and is ordering his lumber from Cale no matter what lumber company he is working for. Each day someone new has said they will give Cale all the yards they need cut, most are builders and each of them have several yards they need cut multiple times each month. Then today when this other lumber company called Cale decided to go talk to one of his old customers who will not buy from 84 anymore and they are excited to go with Cale wherever he goes.

This past Sunday as the prayer request were passed in SS I asked for prayer for us in our new venture that we would have direction, wisdom and favor. God is answering each of these very clearly and the thing that most amazes me most is the favor that is being shown on my husband. He is an amazing man and although has been beaten down for so long his character has not faltered and he has stayed strong in his faith and as a result God is blessing him greatly with the favor of men.

I have a verse that I use with my girls as they are completing a task and we are considering using it for our family motto: Col 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men"
